[Honestly, he wanted to get Dwyer something for Candlenights, but he didn't really know what would fit his personality that well. It wasn't like he could run off and gift him a dragon egg or something like that, and besides... that would probably cause more chaos than what it was worth.
Ryuji thinks a little bit on it, then, after they break the snow globe that constrained the entire town in it- and it hits him. The snow in there seemed to be magical, so he went with it. Buying a small vial at the alchemy shop in town, he finds one of the leftover globes on the tree. This is really, a terribly stupid idea. Through a complicated effort of tying himself to a branch, attempting to activate rage, and pushing his hand through the globe, he manages to not get sucked in, nab some of the snow, and pull out.
The tying part was a good idea, too, since he beserks for a while until he can calm himself down, but he did it. He has a vial of perma-snow.
And that's what waiting Dwyer in a little box for him the morning of Candlenights. He doesn't need to know how dumb he was for trying, but as long as the globe up there is still safe, it should keep its snow-like properties. There's some fried chicken, too, bundled up in another box alongside it, and a hand-written note with a small wooden ornament on top.]
Happy Candlenights!
I dunno if I told you this and it ain't related to anything, but the characters making up my name also mean dragon. Anyway, here's some snow from a magic globe. It's probably useless, but I thought, with everything we've been through, that it seemed kinda appropriate to get you something like this.
Hope you have a warm holiday!!! Hit me up when we get back on base.
Yours, Ryuji
OF COURSE sorry this is so late, it's been a busy holiday season...
[It's kind of a weird concept for Dwyer still - Candlenights, specifically. He doesn't get it, but he appreciates the spirit and aesthetic so long as he doesn't have to do anything he doesn't want to do, but strangely enough the idea to give gifts to the Reclaimers he's been getting to know didn't occur to him.
So that's why when he finds the little gift left for him, reads the note, takes a good look at the tiny vial of magic snow, snow that's quite familiar to him after seeing it try to bury all of New Aspen from the other side of splintering, spiderweb-cracked glass and...well, he's not stupid, he can figure out where Ryuji may have gotten this from.
And, well. Gosh. He didn't have to put himself out like that. What if he'd gotten hurt or stuck in another snowglobe? And there's fried chicken too?! Where did he even get that?? AND an ornament!
When they get back to the base, Dwyer thinks to himself, he'll definitely repay Ryuji for this. It's very kind, incredibly kind. It's...it's more than he expected from anyone in this strange realm.]
12/25 hope actions are okay!
